Game Setup & Rules

Getting Started

Welcome to the game! Before diving in, ensure that all players are ready and understand the basic mechanics. Follow these setup steps carefully to begin a smooth and fair game session.

Setup Instructions

  • Deal the Cards: Each player is dealt **seven (7) cards** from the deck. These cards represent your available resources, actions, and opportunities throughout the game.
  • Income Cards: Every player’s **Income Cards** (representing their money sources) should be placed face-up in front of them. Tip: For a more unpredictable and exciting experience, you can choose to keep income sources hidden until used.
  • Starting Player: The player with the **lowest total income** becomes the first player. Gameplay proceeds in a clockwise direction, unless a card effect reverses the order later in the game.

Turn Sequence

Each player’s turn follows the same general structure:

  1. Draw a Card: Begin your turn by drawing one card from the main deck.
  2. Resolve the Centre Card: If there is a card in the centre (from the previous turn), you must either pay the required amount or carry out the card’s action as stated.
  3. Play a Card from Your Hand: Choose one card from your hand to play into the centre area. The colour of the card determines its type:
    • Needs (Yellow): Represents essential expenses or obligations.
    • Wants (Red): Represents luxury expenses or personal desires.
    • Action Cards (Black, Blue, Orange, Purple): Cards that trigger specific gameplay effects.

Card Effects

Different action cards produce unique effects that can influence the game flow and the financial status of all players.

  • Scammer 🕵️‍♂️: Steal the amount shown on the card from any chosen player.
  • Reverse 🔁: Change the direction of play (clockwise ↔ counterclockwise). Additionally, the consequence of the current card is passed back to the previous player.
  • Bankruptcy 💸: The next player must skip their turn, simulating financial collapse.
  • Investment 💼: Draw two extra cards, representing successful financial growth.
  • Pay It Forward 💳: Pass the current card’s consequence to the next player, spreading the challenge or opportunity.
  • Needs, Tax Audit, Market Crash ⚠️: These cards represent unavoidable financial events and **cannot be blocked or ignored**.
Special Rule: Efficient Management

If at any point a player has no cards left in hand, they immediately draw two new cards.

"Congratulations! You're managing your financials efficiently."

End of the Game

The game ends when one of the following conditions is met:

Winning Conditions

  • A player reaches RM500 in total savings.
This player is declared the winner, as they’ve successfully achieved their financial goal first.
  • The draw deck runs out of cards.
When this happens, all players must count their total savings. The player with the highest amount of money wins the game.
